My students are EIGHT and NINE years old, and yet for an hour today they sat in groups of four, editing a shared google document--managing the "mess" of everyone working on the document at once, managing the permissions and how to do all that, and managing the negotiation and flow of ideas around the table. At one point when I asked a group to correct their use of "there" versus "their" on the document I thought to myself, "perspective here..." And I came up with the lesson idea totally spontaneously according to a need we clearly had. But since the resources and structure were all there, we could jump right into it. Amazing place, amazing students!
