NASA is suspending nearly all of its work with the Russian Federal Space Agency. Part of the United States and Wests efforts to isolate Russia over its annexation of Crimea last month, the only cooperation that will remain is operational work related to the International Space Station. Since NASA retired the space shuttle fleet in 2011, the US has been relying on Russian Soyuz rockets to transport astronauts to and from space. According to a source inside NASA that spoke with The Verge, the only victim here is science. RTs Gayane Chichakyan reports from Washington, DC on the surprise announcement.
