NBC could have saved themselves some money. Here is why David Gregory is crashing in the ratings. Tim Russert had this incredible ability of knowing his business and using that knowledge to call politicians out. Regardless of what side they were on. Right or left. You got called out. Russert grilled you like you were in an interrogation room. The only time Russert failed to do that was during the Bush administration. He was no different than almost every journalist out there. They failed all of us. Other than one ... Keith Olbermann Fan Page. He was the only journalist who wasnt afraid to call them out. Even with death threats. Keith stood his ground. Today its even worse. Journalism has failed this country once again. And a person like David Gregory who fails to call the politicians out specifically on the right has cost his ratings to plummet. Most voters want, and need to hear what theyre politicians are up to on both sides. And most people with busy schedules look forward to playing a little catch up by tuning into these Sunday programs. Meet The Press was that program. No one trusted the other news channels as much as they trusted MTP. I was one of many who wrote into NBC to replace Russert with Gregory. I thought he was fair and balanced. He was not fair and balanced. And has offered his audience a skewed (slanted) view of what is really going on with the republicans. Either Gregory doesnt know how to do an interview properly. Or he is terrified of republicans. Or he just doesnt do his research of them. I cant think of any other reason as to why a journalist will fail to ask the pertinent questions we all want answers too. Such as: Why are republicans making it harder for people to vote? Why are republicans who obviously have wives so against birth control? Why are republicans cutting pell grants and food stamps??? Why are republicans going after the poor rather than after the rich??? Why are republicans so willing to raise taxes on the less fortunate, than on the fortunates??? Why have republicans made no effort to pass a jobs bill??? No effort to rebuild our infrastructure that is obviously falling apart??? Or why they keep cutting education??? Or why they go after public employees pensions and jobs as a ways and means of cutting our deficit??? Why are republicans trying to repeal health care for those who either never had it, or couldnt afford it, and now are able to??? These are questions that need answers ... Russert would have put them in a box. Gregory, has let them out of that box. Save your money NBC, and get rid of the incompetence of David Gregory. Give us a Rachel Maddow type of person who doesnt hesitate to put any, and every politician in a box. Someone who easily puts a lid on a politician that needs to be shutdown. Not a platform for carpetbaggers!!!
