NC MLA BOOED AND FORCED TO LEAVE. A lawmaker in Jammu and Kashmir was Sunday booed and forced to leave by people in his constituency. MLA from Sonawar constituency Mohammad Yasin Shah faced tough time when hundreds of people at Karpora, Kral Sangri area of summer capital Srinagar forced him to leave the area. He wasn’t allowed to express grief to families whose residential houses gutted in fire on Saturday evening, witnesses said. Five houses at Karpora and two houses at Brain Nishat were gutted on Saturday. Hundreds of people came on roads and raised slogans against Shah and government. People were demanding the immediate installation of Fire Emergency Station in the area. “From last five years, we have been requesting the government particularly the MLA to set up a Fire Station in the area but our demand proved to be a far cry,” one of the residents of Brain Nishat said. Witnesses said that the National Conference leader Shah visited the area during the morning hours of Sunday. Hundreds of people confronted him and he was forced to leave the area. Reports said that people raised slogans against him and alleged that Shah was seen on the roads of Sonawar constituency only during his election campaign. Shah said that people have resentment as the government did not fulfill their demand. “They demanded the establishment of Fire Station and were angry. People should understand that it needs time to get a demand fulfilled,” he said. ¤¤mir faisal¤¤
