NEWS RELEASE JEFFERSON PARISH, LOUISIANA April 21, 2014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 3 Millage Renewal Election JEFFERSON PARISH EAST BANK PUBLIC FORUM TOMORROW West Bank Public Forum on Wednesday Jefferson Parish will hold two Public Forums to present to citizens an informative video about the upcoming May 3 Millage Renewal Election. Jefferson Parish citizens are invited to attend. Admission is free. Parish leaders will be available to answer questions from the public about the upcoming millage renewal election. East Bank TOMORROW Tuesday, April 22, 2014 Council Chambers Joseph S. Yenni Building 1221 Elmwood Park Boulevard 2nd Floor 6:00PM West Bank Wednesday, April 23, 2014 Council Chambers General Government Building 200 Derbigny Street 2nd Floor 6:00PM On May 3, 2014, voters in Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte will decide whether to renew existing millages for Consolidated Road Lighting District and Special Services (Criminal Justice, Culture/Parks, Economic Development, Senior Services). Parish-wide, voters will decide whether to renew an existing millage for Judicial and Culture. Only voters in Grand Isle will decide whether to renew existing millages for Ambulance Service District 2 and Road Lighting District 7. The millages will expire in 10 years. The Jefferson Parish Public Information Office will televise LIVE both Public Forums on Jefferson Parish Government Access Television, JPTV, on Cox Communications Channel 6 in Jefferson Parish and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Both Public Forums will be available for viewing, on-demand, on the Parish website, jeffparish.net.
