NEWS UPDATES AT 10 O’CLOCK WITH ORANGE. The US continues its support to east African countries in the fight against terrorism. Maj Gen Wayne Grisgby of the Us military while addressing the media at the Uganda people’s defence Forces command and staff college Kimaka in Jinja affirmed America’s devotion to help flash out regional political instabilities. The US has been supporting Uganda in fighting the LRA leader Joseph Kony among others. NOTU also alleges that the minister has failed the appointment of the Managing Director , Corporation Secretary, the deputy Managing director which are the major offices, that is making the NSSF suffocate. Wilson Owere told the committee that the Acting MD Geraldine Ssali who was on Maternity leave was forced to take office even when days were not yet complete to make her Acting MD. They have asked Parliament to use its powers to censure the Kiwanuka for dodging to meet the worker’s Unions. The European Union has injected 3 million Euros into a new youth scheme called the Youth Entrepreneurship Facility, aimed at helping unemployed youths turn their energy and ideas into business opportunities, to create their own jobs as well as employing others. The scheme to be implemented by the International Labour Organisation in collaboration with the ministry of Gender, was officially launched yesterday at Lugogo by the European head of delegation in Uganda, ambassador Kristian Schmidt. South Africa says non-citizens arriving from Ebola-affected areas of West Africa will not be allowed into the country, with borders closed to people from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. All non-essential outgoing travel to the affected countries has been banned. Senegal also said it was suspending flights with Ebola-affected countries, and closing the border with Guinea. Cameroon and the Ivory Coast earlier imposed travel bans, despite World Health Organization warnings not to.
