NEWSDAY MARCH 31, 2K 14 Joyce Lakheeram not missing Monday, March 31 2014 A woman who was reported missing on Wednesday turned up at Newsday to assure her relatives that she is not missing and that all is well with her. Fifty-year-old Joyce Lakheeram was reported missing by a male relative who also lodged a report with the Cunupia Police Station. Cunupia police confirmed on Wednesday that a missing person’s report was filed by a man who said Lakheeram left home on March 7, and was not seen since. However Lakheeram told Newday she was shocked to see her photo in the newspapers and to read that she was missing. She said when she left home she contacted a male relative by phone to tell him that she would be out for a few days and that she would be safe. Lakheeram confessed to Newsday that she is actually on the run from a close male relative and that she is scared for her life. She said reports have been made to the police about threats to her life. spacer
