NHL : Los Angeles Kings - Dallas Stars 20 Oct 2013, 04:30 Kings did a good job in the last four away games, they are playing great, even though they could play even better, and they are definite favorites against Dallas today, who are arriving without their first goalie After somewhat weaker start of the season, the Kings have entered a solid form and they have four wins in five games, but that is still not the real and fluid game of the great Los Angeles team. They achieved only one win from five games during the regulation time, which is not very important, but it would affect the teams confidence which would grow a bit. After a difficult defeat against Tampa, they celebrated in Nashville after a penalty shootout. It was an even game, each team scored a goal in the first period, and the rest of the game was dominated by defensemen and goalies. Excellent Jonathan Quick from Kings saved 34 out of 35 shots for 97% and with this he led the team to the win brought to them by Anze Kopitar in the penalty shootout. They played their typical hard game with a few goals and took some points which is the only thing that matters. They had a good start with the special lines, their power play is at 17%, penalty kill on 87% which proves that theyre going in the right direction, but they still havent reached the top gear. The good news is that goalie Quicks form has improved and he is gathering momentum for the next part of the season. All in all, these are not the best Kings we will be watching this season. - We played our first six of eight games away which is more than anyone in the conference. The most important thing and a very good information is that our head is above the water after six away games - said Darryl Sutter, Kings coach. They have no injuries, they are returning home after four away games and this is a chance for them to finally show their real face. The two goals from the last two games were scored by a defenseman. It is time for the forwards to start doing their part of the job. Even after six NHL games this season, Dallas Stars still havent found their game ad optimal form, but they are on the right way. Even though they are only 1th on the West with three defeats and three wins, the Stars are looking good, but oscillate too much. Their forwards are still not playing well together and because of that they have problems with efficiency, while the defense has a lot of leaks, but its not alarming - statistics prove that. They say that the Stars concede three and score two goals per match. The last match was great for the Stars after two consecutive defeats, and in it they defeated the best team of the league, San Jose. This was their first defeat of the season and in the seventh game. It was 4-3 for Dallas after penalty shootout, and in a game in which the home team evened the score three times after the Sharks were in the lead. The Stars shown character and team spirit there because the team from California was much closer to winning in that game. However, Dallas reached the win in penalty shootout, mostly because of their second goalie, who proved that the attribute second belongs to him only nominally. - I love it when a goalie stands out and proves himself. Ellis had several excellent saves, especially one in the third period with which he kept the even score. He showed what he can do in the penalty shootout - Lindy Ruff commented on the game and his second goalie. Dan Ellis is, as announced, complementing very well with Kari Lehtonen and he proved that he wont be a handicap for Dallas when the Finn is absent, like now because of an injury. He is also great in covering Dallas so far weak defenses mistakes, but that should stay that way for much longer. Anyway, the Stars dont have any sample of games, other than oscillation from really great to really bad in every match. The visit in Los Angeles is not new for them and they know that they will have to play their best if they want anything more than an easy defeat. The excellent Ellis night will also show if they are capable of that, they need a perfect game in the Staples center and a repeat of the match against Sharks the other night. After an uncomfortable defeat in Boston, when they lost 3-1, Bolts will invest all of their energy in tonights game to defeat Bruins, even though they couldnt do it in the last five games Bolts did a good first part of the season. They had trouble with realization at the beginning, but now its getting better. They won against the tough Minnesota 3-1 on the home ice. It was an even game, but Bolts had more precise shots, but it could have been a more convincing game. Wilds were a bit tired , slow and nervous, which resulted with seven penalties on their side. Tampa team had defeating statistics in this match in that part of the game, scoring only one powerplay goal. - Weve learned from those games right out of the gate against Boston and Chicago and its prepared us for the last six. You have to get these points early because youre going to go through ups and downs and you want to be able to be ahead of teams instead of behind teams - Tampa coach Joon Cooper said. Goalie Bishop was great once again, saving 25 out of 26 Wilds shots. He says: - Its not just me, its the guys in front of me. The guys are playing great. You win some games, 7-2, and then we had to win a game like tonight. You have to win all types of games and they were almost waiting for us to make a mistake and we just didnt make too many mistakes and that was a big win for our team. Martin St.Louis was out in the last game due to a minor injury, but hes coming back to play against Boston. They lost in a weird way on the beginning of the season in Boston, when they conceded two goals in the powerplay, and tonight theyll try to do their best to make up for that uncomfortable defeat. Lee, Ohlund, and Pyatt are still missing due to injuries. Even though they were weakened with few of the important players missing before the beginning of the season, Bruins are playing great, especially on the defense where they win most of the games, crushing the opponents. They won two days in the away game against Florida. They were better with 3-2, and even though they were in the lead 2-0, Panthers evened the score out, and when it was believed the game will go into the extra time, Smith came with his one minute before the end goal. They had a bit of a problem with the realization, but its nothing weird with this game, considering the Panthers legend Tom Thomas was on the goal. He did a great job. - It was different, especially when you play with a guy for so many years, a part of the big group here. So its definitely different when you play someone on the other side, but weve all moved on and realized we had to play this game - Bruins forward Daniel Paille said. Even though theyve defeated the Bolts in their last five games, they wont have it easy today. We can say the best defense is playing against the most efficient offense, and Bruins could come across their first problems tonight. They dont have to change anything in the defense, but they have to be more efficient. They had 40 shots to the goal only in the last game against Florida, and scored only 3. It might not be enough to win this game. Tampa dont have bigger issues when it comes to the injures, Savard being the only one on the list of players who wont perform, but hes completely irrelevant in this situation úplne vyrovnaný zápas trochu vyčnieva druha tretina pre domácich a tretia pre hostí :-) Phoenix Coyotes - Detroit Red Wings 20 Oct 2013, 03:00 Guests are in a four consecutive win series, and they are playing very well, while Phoenix lost an exhausting game after the penalty shots, and theyll definitely miss some strength today Phoenix had two defeats after three consecutive wins, one against Ottawa in the extra time, and the second in the away game against Anaheim last night. Today theyre coming home to play against Detroit, so fatigue could play a big role. They turned the initial Anaheims leadership last night, thanks to Vermett and Klesle. They held the advantage all the way until three minutes before the end of the regular time, when the home team evened the score out, and lead the game to extra time, and then to penalty shots where they had more luck. It was generally a game in which Coyotes didnt use their chances, and they had plenty of those. They had seven powerplay situations, and used none, which came back in the form of a deserved defeat. They saved four shorthanded games, on the other hand, but that didnt really help. Their powerplay is at a solid 20% for now, regardless of this last bad performance, and their penalty kill at 78% isnt something to brag about, and they have to work a lot on it. They have a difficult job waiting for them today, hosting Detroit only 24 hours after the last defeat, so this will be a really hard game for them. - Thats a disappointing way to lose this game. I think we had control there after we scored that second goal and then we kind of just sat back. I felt like we were scared to win - Coyote goalie, Mike Smith, said. The only one with a minor injury problem is the defenseman Derek Morris, and his performance tonight is questionable. The rest of the team are healthy and ready for this game against Detroit, a traditionally tough opponent. The Red Wings continue the series of great performances. The unbeatable Avs were defeated for the first time 4-2 in the away game, and that confirmed Detroits great shape. Last night they lead in the first period 2-0, with Franzen and Datsyuk goals, and then the Avs got things back to the beginning. Franzen and Datsyuk score again in the third period, and bring new important points from Colorado. You have to admit it, Avs were more dangerous on the offense, and directed 12 shots more, but the amazing Gustafsson, who recovered from the injury and got back to the top level, had 38 saves and became the hero of the day alongside the two forwards. - We usually play pretty good coming in here. We make it hard on them and you have to slow them down as much as you can. You know, its high altitude and you have to play smart to beat these guys. They have some great skills and some great speed and I think we did a good job with that - Franzen, one of the heroes, said. Franzens been playing great in the last few games, and he finally started scoring. A lot is expected from him, especially after the last season when he scored very little, and was almost invisible. They fixed their powerplay, but theres still room for progress in that segment. They scored 2/5 in the last game, which is not that bad considering Avs speed and agility. Eaves, Howard and Kronwall will miss the game against Phoenix, but the only one who might be missed is Howard. With the way Gustafssons been tending the goal, he can recover with ease. ruky preč :-) najviac pravdepodobne výsledky 2-2,2-3,3-2 tip by mohol byť 4-6 gólov vklad 1/10 New Jersey Devils - New York Rangers 20 Oct 2013, 01:00 Devils tour was awful and theyre finally at home. The Rangers have lost another important forward, captain Ryan callahan This season might be already declared disastrous. With Kovalchuk and Ponikarovskis departures it was clear that the Devils will be weak, but this weak - no one expected that. They played seven games, still have no wins, and the only thing they can be happy with is that the long and, for them, tormenting tour through Canada is finally over. They played their last games in Ottawa where they decided to finally win at any cost. They started the match offensively, shot on goal as much as they could which resulted with shots on goal statistic of 42-23 in their favor. But they still lost easily, and with 5-2 result. The team is now back home and they are hoping that something might change for the better. - We have to win the games, but we dont play as a complete team. Sometimes we have problems with the offense, sometimes in the defense, and I failed to save anything concrete against Ottawa - said Devils goalie Martin Brodeur. Only one player from the home team is absent, forward Ryan Clowe. The situation is not good in New Jerseys team, but it is not much better in Rangers as well. Unlike the Devils, the Rangers have two wins, but only one point more, because all their losses were in the regulation period. Their last game was a difficult visit to Washington where they, once more, showed that they have the recipe for the Caps. It was the third consecutive shutout in their games, the Caps clearly dont know how to break Lundquist. The whole team played at a high level, very competitive, they won more pucks in the duels, and with that they had bigger possession, more shots on goal and in the end they won the game. It took two goals in less than two minutes for them to win, and it happened in the second period. They ended up paying a high price for the win. Their captain, and a scorer in the match against the Caps, Ryan Callahan, has injured his finger and he will have to take a month break. - Thats bad news for us, we hope he will return as soon as possible - said forward Brad Richards. Rangers offensive problems have now become even bigger. Two very important forwards, Rick Nash and Carl Hagelin, are already on the list of absences. v tomto duch by sme mi dnes videli tento zápas : Im not big on must-wins, coach Peter DeBoer told reporters on Friday, according to The (Bergen) Record. Theres no doubt we need a win. I think we need a win for our confidence. Im really not looking at the standings right now. For me, its an evaluation of how our team is playing and where our team game is and where our identity is. I thought we took a real good step [Thursday] night in Ottawa and you keep building on that and if we do well win games. Thats my view of it.
