NIFL Belfast Telegraph Championship Two Wakehurst 2 (Crawford (pen), Conor Gregg) Moyola Park 3 (McQuillan, Monaghan, Gallagher) For the second time this season Wakehurst and Moyola Park faced up to each other at Mill Meadow, with on this occasion Moyola Park being the visitors. With Michael Walsh serving a one match suspension Moyola Park manager, Mervyn Pattison was forced into making a change to the side which had convincingly beaten Killymoon Rangers three days earlier. Sean McCabe made his first start for some time at the heart of the defence and captain Steven McQuillan took on Walshs midfield role. The opening minutes of the half saw both sides probing the others defence with Wakehurst looking the more likely to break the deadlock. After 25 minutes referee Stephen Gregg showed his yellow card to Moyola Park custodian Marty Farniok having pointed to the penalty spot when the latter was adjudged to have fouled the speedy Jason Paul. Mark Crawford dispatched the ball into Farnioks net with some aplomb to edge Wakehurst ahead. Within five minutes Moyola Park equalised when following a Ciaran Monaghan corner kick on the left McQuillan beat Wakehurst keeper Ryan Curry to score his second goal of the season. Chris Dowie followed up on a through ball from Monaghan to shoot narrowly wide some five minutes before the half time interval. Wakehursts Paul shot narrowly wide of Farnioks right hand upright 3 minutes later. Andrew Laughlin headed over the Moyola Park crossbar before a well executed Conor Gregg free kick from 23 yards eluded Farniok to give Wakehurst the lead once again. For a second time in the game that lead was short lived. Eugene Gallaghers pace enabled him to chase down a ball which appeared destined to go out of play and following his cross towards the Wakehurst goal Monaghan found the back of Currys net, scoring his first goal in a Moyola Park shirt. Gallagher proved to be the match winner when three minutes later he scored a magnificent goal high into the Wakehurst net following good work by Darren Walls on the left flank. Wakehurst pressed hard to find an equaliser with substitute Darren Parker forcing Farniok to make an excellent save in the dying seconds of the game.
