NIGHT 146 (of 284) CELEBRATING 25 YEARS SINCE THE 1980s It is Friday night people. Kick your shoes off, mix yourself a cocktail of beverages, relax and soak up this classic song from a classic movie! Girls (and boys if you are that way inclined) you get another dose of Tom Cruise, as well as our very own husky actor Bryan Brown. Of course the movie I refer to is, what you are drinking right now if you have followed instructions (or at least wish you were) - COCKTAIL. The feature song for this movie was performed by one of the Worlds great all time bands (some circles might even say the best). They have released songs in six different decades, starting way back in 1961. In all, on the Australian charts, they had seven Top 20 hits, and a further seven TOP 10 hits. Four of those made it to #1. Good Vibrations in 1966 (still a fantastic hit) was their first #1. Then in 1968 they again hit the top spot with Do It Again, followed in 1970 with their third #1 Cottonfields. It was lean pickings after that for a long time, more than 18 years to be precise - until the late 1980s.
