NOTE: It seems there are a lot of misconceptions about our decision to close the Portland office. We would like to clarify a few things. 1) MaineTransNet as an organization is NOT closing, shutting down, or going out of business. 2) ALL Portland area groups, events, and activities (except Drop-in) will continue uninterrupted; in fact, we are planning new groups and activities as I type this. 3) We are NOT moving to Bangor. MTN has had a presence in both Bangor AND Portland for several years now. Since our Bangor based Board member Tallis secured an inexpensive office space in Bangor, timed with our temporary closing of the Portland office, we decided that rather than liquidating our material assets, we would donate them to the Bangor office so they can keep the momentum and expand the great work happening up there. 4) We plan to open another office as soon as we a) find what we are looking for in our price range, and b) raise the funds to do it. Please stick with us as we work through this transition period.
