NOVEMBER 7 KEEP THE PROPER PROSPECTIVE ON WHO YOU REALLY ARE. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Romans 12:3 THINK SOBERLY How many times do we see people get into trouble because they think more highly of themselves than they ought to think? Often. Sometimes we do not recognize that in ourselves but this is a good question to ask when we find ourselves out on a limb. In this situation, where did I think that I was greater than I am. The question in itself is pretty scary. We do not want to admit that we have egos the size of New York City. Sometimes we hear people say, I do not think of myself highly at all. I know that I am the scum of the earth. Look out! That person thinks they are really great and are soliciting that type of response from you telling them how humble they are. Who do we think we are fooling? Get real! God has given us a measure of faith. That faith grows as we realize who we really are and seek to know Him better. If we think we have already arrived.... LOOK OUT! We are not worms in the dirt; neither are we God’s gift to the world. Daily let’s ask God to show us our hearts. He will do it. WHEN WE TRULY SEE THE CONDITION OF OUR HEART, THEN WE CAN MORE AHEAD TO IMPROVE IT.
