Never one to comment on celebrity deaths, but........Having lost someone very close to me to suicide I have witnessed how devastating depression is. Someone smart, funny, with the whole world in front of them can end up feeling so alone and desperate that death is literally the only escape. It is not a cowardly choice, or an easy way out. It is a last resort. When all else fails. Seeing someone you love go through it, is like slowly watching a train crash, once theyre on it its hard to get them off. Suicidal thoughts/depression is often something these people feel ashamed to admit, embarrassed to talk about, they dont want people to think theyre mental. The only somewhat positive out of Robin Williams tragic death is (I hope) the public will start to talk about this invisible disease and a lot more will be done to help. If someone as brilliant and crazy and magical as Robin Williams could feel that much despair then it can hit anyone of us.
