New CCTV footage suggests that only four gunmen stormed the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, at least two of whom were Kenyans. The pictures broadcast on Kenyan television cast more doubt over the official information about the siege, which claimed at least 67 lives. At the time, the government said there were between 10 and 15 attackers, possibly including citizens of America and Britain. However, only four gunmen appear on the latest CCTV footage, although others may not have been caught on camera. The four have been identified as Abu Baara al-Sudani, Omar Nabhan, Khattab al-Kene and Umayr. A Kenyan military spokesman confirmed on Saturday that those were the correct names. At least two of these men are known members of the Kenyan wing of al- Shabaab, the Somali affilate of al-Qaeda. So far, there is no evidence that any carries the passport of a Western country. The footage shows the men walking calmly through a storeroom in Westgate mall, apparently hunting for targets. All are armed with AK-47 assault rifles; one appears to have a bloodstain on the leg of his trousers. But he does not walk with a limp, suggesting that the blood may not be his.
