New Job Health and Safety and Environmental Manager - PTR14/693 Industry: Health and Safety Job Type: Permanent Location: Coventry, England Salary: £28000 - £30000 per annum + benefits Health and Safety and Environmental Manager Coventryto £30k + ben Our client, established for more than a century and renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field, are seeking to recruit a highly self motivated, dynamic and successful Health and Safety and Environmental Manager as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth. Reporting to the Operations Director, the role will require you to ensure the Company complies with relevant legislation, as well as to be proactive in improving Company performance in health, safety and environmental matters. The successful candidate will develop, maintain, communicate and monitor the implementation of Health and Safety and Environmental policies and provide competent HSE advice to the management team and employees at all levels, including providing advice on legislative changes. Additionally you will engage managers in implementing Health, Safety and Environmental improvements and deliver safety related training programmes to employees, including induction for all new employees, ensuring that adequate first aid facilities are available and maintaining and inspecting accident reports as appropriate. You will collate, analyse and report on Health and Safety and Environmental data and conduct accident and incident investigation and reporting when required in line with Company Policy and legislation, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented and managing and maintaining the handling of claims for industrial injury, and you will also ensure that risk assessments are carried out on all operations within the Company, making recommendations for improvement, and ensuring that these are subsequently implemented. Additionally you will liaise with external authorities to facilitate inspections and to comply with reporting requirements, and will ensure that risk assessments are carried out on all operations within the Company, making recommendations for improvement where necessary and ensuring that these are implemented, and you will both participate in regular Health and Safety meetings with employee representatives and maintain COSHH Safety data sheets on substances used within the organisation. To be considered for this varied and challenging role it is envisaged that you will be qualified to degree level or an equivalent qualification possess your NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent and ideally be a member of IOSH. You will demonstrate at least three years generalist operational H&S experience and up-to-date knowledge of H&S legislation with exceptional communication skills (both written and oral) and will show excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills, with a full driving licence being an essential requirement to allow travel to sister sites in the Midlands.
