New Job Test Engineer (Middleware tier) - Contract - LT/TEST/ENG Industry: IT Job Type: Contract Location: City of London, England Salary: £350 - £425 per day Test Engineer (Middleware Tier) - Contract - 6 months Im currently looking for a Testing Engineer to join an exciting company who are working on some ground breaking products in the Media space. As a Test Engineer, you will ideally have extensive Automated testing experience but also some additional experience coding in Java as a language. You will take responsibility for deriving functional and performance test cases. Additionally you will implement test cases and repeatable test scripts for scalable systems architecture that is written in Java as well as web based UI. The core focus of your work will be on testing in the middleware tier between the front and backend testing for leakages etc. Your responsibilities include: - Working closely with the Java developers using and promoting the use of automated test tools when appropriate. - Recommending and implementing suitable testing frameworks. - Simulating high volume data testing for leakages on a 24/7 platform. - Representing testing best practices. - Supporting a test driven development approach where appropriate. - Managing test deliverables. Potential candidates will have: - A strong and proven background working on large, Agile projects. - Experience using Agile approaches (User Stories, iterative delivery etc.). - A proven background testing in middleware preferably using tools such as JMS, ActiveMQ etc. - Experience with a scripting language (this can be any of Perl, Bash, Python etc.). - Experience with Test management and automation tools (Selenium Webdriver, Neo Load, LMeter). - Experience working with multiple streams. - A strong technical background in command tools and shell scripting. - Excellent communication skills on all levels.
