New Opportunity at UEA: Dear Students: Are you interested in sketch comedy? Do you obsessively listen to the radio? Do you like to write? To act? To broadcast? To podcast? To organize, publicize, manage, and make noise? Then you may be interested in working with a new project located here at UEA: The University of Life. UOL is an audio sketch comedy show loosely based around the idea of education. No previous experience necessary. The topic of education has been chosen because it is one of the subjects that students know best at this time in their lives. While many of our sketches will focus on university life in particular, the broader concept of education will be flexible enough to embrace many different related subjects. Everything from driving teachers to documentaries to educational television and radio to life lessons broadly conceived. The project will involve drama professionals, UEA staff, former UEA students, and current UEA students. Initially, we will be aiming to produce one show at the end of each semester. The shows will be performed in front of a live audience but will be recorded for distribution as podcasts on the web and broadcasts on the radio.
