New Years Eve, like other holidays, is a time when we and society places a lot of pressure on ourselves to be happy, and if in my experience if I dont meet these unrealistic expectations I can normally be fairly critical of myself. While a fantastic opportunity for celebration, time spent with friends and family, and a great excuse for a fresh state, if youre down and not feeling so great try to remember that tonight is just a night like any other. If youre not feeling great, try to make it a celebration of yourself and that youve gotten through another year. You may not feel like youve achieved much this year, and it might be hard to think of another difficult year ahead, but no matter how hard it was 2014 was a year where you coped and you made it through each and every day without fail, just like 2013, just like all the years that have come before. Even if you feel you have nothing to celebrate, youve got that.
