New York City day 5 update Youll never guess, the day started late, up @ 10am and didnt leave the hotel till noon! We all needed the sleep in :) We skipped over to Starbucks for our regular, theyll know us soon by drink Im counting on it. Then off to the Subway we go, each day getting more confident on the train. The girls are liking the train cause they get to swipe their Metro Cards, push there way through the access bars and keep their balance by holding the poles on the train, even when theres seats available. Today was our visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Ground Zero. Its a very surreal experience, its quite, its real and its so powerful. We spent a lot of time in the museum reading about 9/11 and all the families touched, there was an apple in my throat and tears in my eyes. Then we went over to the memorial fountains, theyre so beautiful. All the people that perished have their names engraved all the way around on both the North and South fountains and a rose is laid on the name if its their birthday. So far one new tower is fully standing and the second is almost halfway finished. This is a must do if ever in NY. We left for midday lunch at a sushi place just up the road. It was a really nice meal, were still working on getting our fix of sushi, but were not there yet:) Century 21 took a large chuck of my budget today. Its like a Winners but better organized, I got a pair of Calvin Klein pants, regular $59.50 I paid $35.97. Five hours later we exited the store and headed back to Times Square by train. Pearl was hungry and wanted McDonalds so we stopped in on our way back to the hotel. While we were eating this black guy was walking by our table and stopped, looked at us all, then asked me if I was Chinese? I said no Im Eskimo, then he looked at mom and asked if she was Chinese and mom said no Im Eskimo, then he walked away. Pearl wasnt paying much attention while he was talking to us, she said confused did he say he was Chinese? I giggled and said no he thought we looked Chinese she said theres something wrong with his eyes. OMG we all busted out laughing!! Gnite from Melinda, Topsy, Mataya & Pearl
