New Youngs Bay Bridge to close for maintenance for at least one evening during September 25-27 ASTORIA—The New Youngs Bay Bridge will be closed for annual maintenance for at least one night during September 25-27 while an Oregon Department of Transportation bridge crew performs the annual greasing of cables on the draw span.While the work will only take one night (between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.), the crew is giving itself extra time during the three nights to get the job done because it needs dry weather. During the closure, the crew will also try to fix the wheel ruts on the southwest corner coming off of the bridge. The detour will be U.S. 101 Business. Detour signs will be posted notifying motorists of the closure several days before the planned work. Over dimensional vehicles will be accommodated by calling 503-325-5851. Motorists should expect short delays.
