New wind farm to be built in the RM of Stanley. Project co-coordinator states that it will be the 3rd largest in Manitoba based on the number of towers and will hopefully have 30 powered windmills in the end when they finish. The project has already started with parts being sourced from all over the world. A firm completion date has not been given and Vestas has been contacted for help with logos :) The site supervisor added that they are currently in design stage with 3 turbines built and currently running. He was sad to add that all though they look cool and are built to last, they are actually not generating any power at all. In reality, he says that he believes that they will end up needing to be sponsored by Duracell or EverReady as they consume a lot of batteries. More news and pictures to come when available.
