Newberry High School football has flown the same American flag weather permitting at every home game with this being the 15th consecutive year now. The flag first flew over the USS Arizona Memorial on December 7, 1999 at high noon. The ROTC takes great pride and care of the flag as Im told it is still in perfect condition as it doesnt fly in the rain and mainly sees the sun as it is in its final hour before setting. Out of the literally tens of thousands of high schools in America that field football teams, itd be interesting to note just how many fly a flag that first flew of such a prominence place in our countrys history. To me, you can just look at the flag and feel the magnitude of the Pearl Harbor memorial exhuming from it when shes flying.
