News: With Norwood Back From Vacation, Yeng Guiao In No Rush To Bring Paul Lee Back From Injury Layoff With the return of big guard Gabe Norwood, Rain or Shine is in no rush to bring back injured star Paul Lee for the Elasto Painters’ next game against expansion team Blackwater Friday in the PBA Philippine Cup. Coach Yeng Guiao admitted feeling relieved now that doctors have confirmed that Lee’s hyperextended knee which he suffered in the game against San Miguel Beer was not serious as initially feared. “I don’t know kung ready na siya but we will not force him,” said Guiao. “We will make sure that he is 100 percent healthy before he plays. The good side is the injury is not serious.” The combo guard out of University of the East, who was recently signed to a fresh two-year contract by the team, could miss a few games due to the injury, but Guiao isn’t worried at all as he expressed confidence his other players can fill in the void especially with the 6-foot-5 Norwood ready to see action again fresh from a US vacation following his stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the offseason. Norwood returned to the country on Tuesday evening. “Nandyan na si Gabe, dumating na kagabi (Tuesday). Hindi pa okay si Chris Tiu, but there is Gabe. Jonathan Uyloan is playing well, and TY Tang. Si Paul naman hindi matagal ‘yun,” said Guiao. The Rain or Shine mentor said he knew Lee didn’t sustain a serious injury immediately after he talked with him in the bench. “Nung nakatayo na siya, although inakay siya, nung nasa bench na siya, sabi naman niya okay lang siya. Hindi naman siya nagpadala right away sa ospital,” said Guiao.
