Next project for the man cave..... restoring my favorite leather recliner. We made the mistake of buying a Lazyboy recliner in a fawn brown color many years ago. Beautiful chair but bad choice of finishes. The leather started soaking up skin oils almost immediately and now we keep it shrouded under an afghan. Most people would just toss it and buy another one, but I cant stand throwing away a perfectly good (and hugely comfortable) chair. I found information on YouTube on how to extract the stains and clean the leather down to a neutral finish. Once the leather is stripped it can be primed, dyed to any new color (deep chocolate brown) and refinished. Ive ordered the supplies and well see if I can restore my old chair to like new again! All at a fraction of the cost of a new recliner.
