Nico Rosberg says it is a bit strange that his corner-cutting moment in Montreal even made it before the stewards. With team-mate Lewis Hamilton right on his rear wing as they tussled for the lead in Canada, Rosberg made a mistake at the final chicane and cut the corner. The Mercedes driver undoubtedly gained a small advantage over his team-mate as the gap widened, however, has revealed that he almost immediately slowed to bring it back down. Despite that the incident went before the stewards, who ruled that Rosberg had done nothing wrong. He was, however, given a warning. Speaking about the incident, the Mercedes driver told Autosport: I didnt think anything of it. I went straight, and didnt get an advantage. I did initially, but I slowed down in Turn 1 and 2 as is the norm to do. So as long as I didnt gain an advantage [overall], then it is fine. And thankfully that is how they judged it. The Championship leader has now called on Formula 1 to have a rethink about how it deals with corner cutting. It is worth discussing, because it going to the stewards is a bit strange. It is something that we all agreed among ourselves, and especially that the first time you can maybe get a warning, but you cannot do it three times in a row.
