No street parties afterall. Cambodias U-21s lost 3-0 to Vietnam U19s tonight and will be on the next plane home from Brunei. Look, it was a friendly tournament, we put out a strong team with overage players whilst most opponents used their U-19s, so it was never a level playing field. We won 3 games, lost two. So the results were much better than usual. Im sure there are some positives and its always valuable to see what younger players are like under international match pressure. The Suzuki Cup in October is the real test, against senior teams from the lesser nations. There have always been question marks over team selections, there always will be, no two people ever agree about the game, thats the beauty of it. I was scratching my head before tonights game as we knew it was gonna be our toughest match and we didnt start with our strongest line-up. So lets be frank, the reverse didnt come as a shock. Just a major disappointment for all the fans who had raised the bar of expectation to a height that was unattainable.
