Not everybody who calls himself pastor speaks for God. Be careful - TopicsExpress

Not everybody who calls himself pastor speaks for God. Be careful who you follow and test what they teach against the Word of God. It is your responsibility as a Christian to study and show yourself approved in these things. The information pool by which students of the faith draw from is out there. There is plenty of sound scholarship to learn from freely each day; yet most of us will wait to be spoon-fed by our pastor once or twice a week. If you have the Holy Spirit, you already have the best teacher there is. Go to God directly and get a fresh word. Not to sound all over the top charismatic, but God still is in the business of supernaturally imparting divine wisdom, special instructions and personal encouragements. Some of us have been saved for long enough that we need to discard our milk bottles and grab the meat prongs. It might take some getting used to, but if you desire it.. with Gods help, you can teach yourself the Bible. The Bible teacher is only a tool- one of which you can become the same, because He who is in you is the same God as He who is in your pastor- well, some pastors. Test! Hebrews 5:12-14 NKJV For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. cnn/2007/US/02/16/miami.preacher/index.html?eref=yahoo
