Not sure whats happened to me but I think my kids have made me soft when to the trap club this morning for the home builders association annual turkey shoot. MaKenzi and I had shot guns and were on our way home when a blue Herron flew up from the side of the road .....oh my the wing span and have you ever noticed its a natural reaction to duck when you hit something yes I just missed that big old blue bird with my windshield . But wait ......lets not forget the lumber rack on the sales truck ... Broke its leg almost off very clearly a compound fracture .....nice now there would have been a time that bird would have been a goner not today little miss doe eyes in the passenger seat oh mom we have to do something Im looking at the 12 ga in the seat thinking ok not a problem. Not gonna happen MaKenzi and I decided that maybe just maybe this bird is protected and maybe it can be saved . We called the linn county police ......they dispatched two state troopers . I found very funny takes troopers to rescue this big old bird. Anyway dog crate and fishing net in hand the bird is at the Calapooia refuge tonight I hope it makes it. What an adventure thank you MaKenzi for teaching mom today love you for your huge heart
