Not trying to beat a dead horse or anything but, compared to the money spent trying to prevent and contain, this really is a no brainer. The Colorado legislature has already formed a plan to spend $33 million of the marijuana taxes on school nurses and public education on marijuana. Even Colorado cops plan to get a chunk of the new revenue, asking for 10-15% of the proceeds for DUI enforcement and fighting diversion to other states and unlicensed sales. For many of us, this has little to do with getting high as it is more about the obvious revenue, removing the criminal element destroying lives, the medicinal uses, the uses of hemp and my biggest argument: removing the taboo that is a direct feed to our youth. Remember when you became 21? Drinking suddenly wasnt that thing to do anymore. I have spoken to people outside of this country where marijuana is legal and been told that a major reason its not an issue is because they dont make it one. Check the numbers and then multiply that by 50. Even with 25% margin of error, its a number that shouldnt be ignored.
