November 18th 2014. Cameron and I stopped at Bama Gas in - TopicsExpress

November 18th 2014. Cameron and I stopped at Bama Gas in Centerpoint AL. After purchasing $30 worth of gas and a Blue Icee, we pulled up to the intersection and waited at the red light. When my light turned green I pulled out and started my left turn when an older female approaching on my left side ran her red light at 80 mph, hitting my vehicle on the left fron corner. That was the last time I drove my Chevy Trailblazer that had served me well for 9 years and almost 200,000 miles. The next day after I had thanked God about 1000 times that Cameron was untouched, unhurt and not even really shaken up that much, I prayed about my car. The man at State Farm had already told me that it would most likely be totaled. That means I would have no car. I asked God for a replacement. Nothing more and nothing less. For the next 4 weeks I searched Google, Cargurus, Carmax, Autotrader and Craigslist in AL TN and GA. Plenty of vehicles for sale but none for the amount of money that Kelly Blue Boook and N.A.D.A told me my car was worth. It was looking grim and getting me down just a little bit. I had a rental car from Enterprise so I drove around to look at and test drive several vehicles in my price range, but all of them turned out to be junk. Some of them were shiny junk, but junk nonetheless. I had to keep reminding myself more and more as time went on that we walk by faith and not by sight. Through research I found out that vehicles in GA were a good bit cheaper than the same year, make and models in AL. I seriously considered asking someone to drive me over towards Atlanta when I got my check from State Farm, to look around and see if I could find a car over there. December 26th, my birthday, the adjuster called and made me an offer on my car. It was a fair offer for my car because it was over $1000 more than the internet told me mine was worth, so I couldnt complain about that. But it was still a lot less $$$ than the Trailblazers I was finding for sale in Alabama. My check would be here in 48 hours and I had 3 days past that to keep the rental. I had to hurry and find a car. Since the day of the wreck I had not even known where my car ended up. I asked the adjuster about it on the phone and she arranged for me to go and get my personal belongings out of the car since I had not already done so, but I had to do it that day. So I took off to Hueytown and got my things. While I was in Hueytown, which is a good ways away from here, a fur piece I would call it, I looked at 3 Trailblazers that I had seen on Craigslist. Still out of price range for me. On the way home from Hueytown I was coming down Old Springville Road and I was thinking about a mechanic shop up ahead owned by a man I know. I thought to myself, wouldnt it be nice if Donnie had a car sitting on his lot for sale. As that thought was rolling across the front of my mind, a red Chevy Trailblazer appeared on my left, seemingly out of nowhere. I had passed this car lot several times since I had been carless, but never noticed this car before. 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ. Less miles on it than my car had. Way more options on it than my car had. No dents like my car had. No scratches like my car had. I took posession of it today and I still have a few bucks left over, even after I paid the taxes and swapped the tag. After I spent countless hours on the internet looking and traveling many miles test driving other cars, I found this vehicle less than 2 miles from my house. Sitting there waiting for me to drive by. I told the man I bought the car from this story and he assured me that this vehicle was listed on all those websites that I had looked at and yet I had never seen it online We walk by faith and not by sight. Sight and flesh always want to take over, but we must overcome. We serve an awsome God \O/
