Now THIS is tree climbing! Brodie is ten and Allanah is eight ... both were kinder students of me and Sherry when we were teaching together. They are currently on the adventure of a lifetime as they spend the next 6 months travelling around Australia with their parents Georgia and Shane and younger sister Issabelle In the Valley of the giants near Pemberton WA, there are 3 enormous trees that you can climb, Brodie & Alannah were determined to conquer the Gloucester Tree, standing 53metres tall. Georgia says - It took all of our parenting strength to firstly allow them to do it & secondly to watch it. They both made it to the top & back safely, you could see how proud they were! The video footage was taken on Brodies 2nd turn!! I didnt even attempt it, Shane & Isabelle did not get much passed the 10th rod. Way to go Brodie and Allanah ... Well done Shane and Georgia for facing YOUR fears! Now before anyone freaks out Id like to point out that children ARE allowed to climb the tree and no one has EVER died or fallen from a dangerous height from the tree.
