Now a Few Words from our Interns: I loved hearing about the musical Filthy Fred written by the couple from Budapest. How they incorporated his life story into the musical was an interesting twist. Learning about that little piece of history was very enlightening, and seeing how they adapted the musical to fit modern American society when it the book had been portrayed in 1940’s Budapest. Seeing how a book can be taken and turned into a musical like that impressed me. I hope to encounter more writers while I intern here at Lau Lapides. There is always someone new and interesting walking through the door. ~Jessica Varner
