Peter Polo born Dennis Cannon is an African-American Los Angeles based rapper/DJ/producer/actor . In 1995, Tha Boogiewoogie Man was known as a DJ at K.P.F.K. 90.7 FM s Afro-Dicia Radio Program hosted by Ogegeko Ottoman and DJ Namdi. Every Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. you heard Afro-dicia Radio show which played everything from Reggae,World Beat, Soul, Jazz,Rock to Hip Hop. Tha Boogiewoogie Man aka Peter Polo was the engineer/DJ and did the Hip-Hop news as well,for about year and half(1995-1996)and was also the DJ/engineer at K.U.S.C.Radio 1997-1999. During that time Tha Boogiewoogie Man frequently performed at Los Angeles first Hip-Hop open-mic place,The GoodLife Cafe as well Project Blowed as an solo emcee and for short time with Organic Fragments(Mane Azeem and Yetski). Later on, he worked with Ted Hayess Compton Cricket Club(CCC) who had Tommy Boy Records as a sponsor in 1997. Which led to them being featured in a Peter Jennings news segment about Compton kids playing cricket against the Prince of Englands team. Which led to Dennis aligning himself with former Los Angeles Clipper,late NBA Star Malik Sealy who had started his own label Citi-entertainment in the New York . After a couple years it seemed things were working for Dennis he appeared in a Tonight show with Jay Leno clip freestyling and joking around with Jay,a background dancer in a Dogg Pound video Gangsta Sh!T and a dancer in a Coolio video,and also a Goodie Mob video Get Rich To This. Malik Sealy lost his life in a auto-mobile accident ,which left Tha Boogiewoogie Man without a label or production company to back him ,so he turned to Prime Casting for acting ,to which he was represented by since 1999 for work . Tha Boogiewoogie Man appeared in a movie Zig Zag that featured Wesley Snipes,Sam Jones and John Leguizamo , a small part as one of the local thugs in the neighborhood. He was also in a wild and funny womens bra commercial Giant Girl Lives . He also did voice-overs for the movie Gladiators. In between a bunch of arrests for selling/possession of marijuana,driving with suspended license,tresspassing he made a mixtape which featured all Original songs The Peter Polo Show in (2001). Still ,after a few more years and jail stints, finally, he came back with underground single So What Its Gon Be featuring Mr. Stryfe. Dennis started his own independent label/production company Waterboogie Music inc. in 2006 at the suggestion of his friend, real estate entreperneur Carlos Rice. In 2009, Tha Boogiewoogie Man released Waterboogie Music Vol.1 featuring Phaloxsimu a.k.a. Phyya, Yung IRA(formerly Yung Savage) and N-Kroud. After making some noise, Tha Boogiewoogie Man released The Gathering in 2011 ,gaining Def Jams attention to re-release Waterboogie Music Vol. 1 and The Gathering thru Island Def Jam Digital Distribution. Tha Boogiewoogie Man produced an album featuring L.A. artists Yung Ira,Phyya, Yung O.Z.,Duece Rat,Blazing Spear and Richie Genius called Waterboogie All-Stars on Feb 26 2012.He dropped his sophomore solo album The 33rd Degree:Rise of the Second Sun back May 12 ,2012 ,which garnered him a cult following in the underground. It banged Hard with Dr.Dre-ish/West Coast type beats,funk,Hip-hop even a few Dirty South joints with a class of loaded lyrics,metaphors & storytelling ability.Currently touring and working on a new album called Capt.
