OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade to Feature Winners of 2014 Charlotte Music Awards Award winners to be announced in Hollywood this November Charlotte, NC – July 14, 2014 – Four award-winning vocal artists from the Carolinas will perform at this year’s Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade in Uptown Charlotte. Semi-finalists for this honor will be chosen as part of the 2014 Charlotte Music Awards (CMA) program, which hosts a Showcase Series throughout the year to identify up-and-coming Carolina artists, songwriters and musicians. Ten CMA Showcase winners will soon be chosen to attend the CMA Red Carpet Event, which will be held during the Hollywood Music in Media Awards on November 4, 2014 at The Fonda Theater in Hollywood, CA. During the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, judges will choose three top winners from the CMA entourage to represent CMA nationwide. The three top winners will then return to Charlotte to perform in the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade. Southern/Country Rock band The Southern Experience, originally from the Kings Mountain area, will also perform live during the parade. The band won top honors at the 2013 Charlotte Music Awards, and has since toured across the Southeast region. This week, they were voted #10 on the “Icemans TOP 40 New Country Artist Chart,” and their fan base continues to grow. The 2014 Charlotte Music Awards Showcases include Rock, Country, Singer/Songwriter, Urban, Blues, Bluegrass/Americana, Women in Rock and Women in Country. Several showcase competitions are still accepting applications for 2014. The Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade steps off at 9:30am on Thanksgiving Day.
