OGUN STATE CHIEF LAW 2002 (AMENDED) CAP 20 SECTION 14,15,16 Provides tha where there is a vacant stool of chiefstancy title: The ruling house in accodance with the customary law, shall provide a candidate or candidates as the case may be. Not later than 40 days after the announcement by the secretary. The members of the ruling house shall submit the name of candidate or candidates as the case may be to the kingmakers...... where there is more than one ruling house, the secretary shall make announcement according to the order of jurisdiction, the declaration shall entitle to submit the name or names within the period shortly after announcement. Untill the name or names of candidate is submited to the kingmakers, it shall be lawfull for the secretary to attend as observer any meeting of the ruling house..... Within not less than 40 days after the submition of the name the candidate or candidates, the kingmakers shall proceed to select a person to fill the vacant in accordance with the provision......
