OGUN STATE ON MY MIND Politicians are just very selfish. They - TopicsExpress

OGUN STATE ON MY MIND Politicians are just very selfish. They claim they are representing the interest of the people but we all know the bottom-line. What we have in this clime are just opportunists who are thrown up by the skewed political system. They all come, make plenty of noise and sprinkle about 40% of receivables on the poor folks without engendering any meaningful growth in both the polity and development. Anyway, we have to live with these products of a fundamentally anti-people political system a.k.a “Demoncrazy”. No problems – when fate throws you lemon, you make lemonade, not ice-cream. However, even at that, why is it that anytime there is a semblance of tranquility and progress, some political trouble will always come up to clog the wheel? I am not a politician but I am a stakeholder in Ogun State and I am not blind to the significant progress made by the Amosun government. If Gold rust what is expected of iron? I dare say I did not witness the level of the current transformation in physical development in Ogun State even during the regime of Chief Osoba who was of the Awolowo School of the greater good for the greater number. It was the late Tai Solarin who admonished us not to reject the opportunity of education even from the devil because education is simply the exit visa from ignorance and poverty. I believe we should not break the stride of the Amosun wave of development on the altar of political expediency very much so that most of these combatant politicians have not demonstrated any superior vision concerning the interest of the people. They are merely jostling for power to maintain political relevance and secure many more pay-checks. I am not of the opinion that Amosun should have an automatic second term but let peace reign so that the nomination and primaries can be conducted in a transparent manner such that whoever believes he can do better than what Amosun is doing can afford us his vision and the people can evaluate the promises with what they have seen. To our NASS members from Ogun State, I appeal for calm. Eni a ba laba ni Baba. Aja o ki roro ko so ile meji. The combativeness you are foisting on the state could have given Ogun State a better deal at the NASS. I cannot signpost any meaningful gain the state had derived from your representations in the NASS. Please educate me if I am wrong. What has become of the Ijebu State creation mandate we gave you? The State was virtually prostate in the last administration and against all permutations, we got a Governor who is making visible impact yet we cannot have peace because some fellows are growing larger than their sizes? My one vote will go to Amosun for what I have seen in Ogun State because though I love my friends but I love Ogun State more. Long live Ogun State.
