OK I know this has nothing to do with a garage/yard sale in particular but I feel this should be said. People, if you plan to advertise your yard/garage/estate sale by posting signs on trees, please for the love of all that is peaceful, remove your nails. I pulled my signs down today and retrieve 5 handfuls of nails from the trees we used. that wasnt even half of them that were in the tree. The others were impossible for me to pull out. Please take a moment to think of our mother earth and her beautiful trees and plants that provide us with oxygen. On top of that these trees whether you know it, are an important part of Montanas history. A nail may seem brand new and still shiny at a glance when you look at a tree, but the portion that is in the tree actually decays at a faster pace making the metal begin to taint the tree. this wont kill it right away, it will be a slow death for the tree. but please just take a simple extra minute when retrieving your signs to relieve the trees pain by removing these metal instruments of our own creation. And i ask nicely that the admins please not remove this post so we can spread the message.
