OK. I like watching golf. The drama can be exquisite. I love the Ryder Cup; understand the chauvinistic pride that fuels the event. Admire the control that the players have in the midst of the storm. Im no golfer and no slave to etiquette but... are all of the worlds gormless golf fans living in the States or... do all of the worlds gormless golf fans holiday in the States when the Majors kick in? Seriously! I work with Americans in London. I admire their world view, chutzpah, enthusiasm, sensitivity, emotional intelligence. These are refined folk who have left those shores, so Im unsure how locals feel... Im into sporting cauldrons and the vagaries of international manners and... (Shoveling deep) Im not lobbing a whole nation into this generalism, but surely there should be a consensual reaction, some group response, some national embarrassment that gets the shepherds crook out. Never seems to happen though. So that Jock continues to yell GET IN THE HOLE on the players back swing of a par 5 drive. The same guy who continues to yell YOURE THE MAN on the back swing of the next shot. The twat who just yelled the name of the best placed American (the brilliant Jason Day) as Rory addressed his approach shot on the 6th. All of those blokes who look like Security. Are they not Security? Thoughts?
