OK, my last post on Cold/Flu cures. When I was in boot camp (US Army) I came down with a cold/flu, aches, fever of 101, fluids gushing out of my nose, sore throat, bad cough, ready to die. Late in the evening I couldnt take any more of this and let my sergeant know that I was in dire straights. He sent me off to the base clinic, about a mile walk. They took me in and gave me a bed in a sort of camp style hospital ala M.A.S.H. (this was 1965). They gave me some pills known as APCs (my guess was aspirin) and a quart of cold Cool Aid. I thanked the orderly and he said, No, you drink that now. And he waited while I drank the whole thing. He then showed up every hour with a quart of Cool Aid, woke me up, and insisted I drink it. After several of these I was unconscious. But when I woke up the next day, I felt way better, had a hearty breakfast, and walked back to my unit -- cured.
