OK, should I call this adventure, a challenge or something else? I - TopicsExpress

OK, should I call this adventure, a challenge or something else? I will call it a challenge - let see how I can come out of it! Yesterday I come into Esteli in Nicaragua to meet up with an other travel friend, Paolo Pastore from Italy, I was loking for the Hostel he stayed. To cut the story short, a pick-up hit me from the right and beat me off the street. They called the police and they come to the conglusion, it was not my fold why the exident was happened. Me, I am fine. After the inspection of my motorcycle things looked not so serious at first - bended cases and holder (piece of cake to rebend them, I am good in that :-)), broken clutch lever (had a spare with me), cracked right mirror (still usable) - but from the second look I dedected a frame crack on the left side of the engine. Right there where the rear frame come together with the middle frame and that is where the challenge come in now - the middle frame is mate of cast iron! So, the police took the driving licence and the insurance paper from me and the others invulved in the accident and tolled us after the thing is seddled we can take them from the police station. We went to a small workshop to see what could be done and after I convinced them that it would be not possible to weld the part because it is made of cast iron - we agreed on an amound of money to pay to me for the damage (of course not enough to cover the whole expence, but to shorten the issue and to get back the papers from the police station, I agreed). After getting a place for the night and telling my host of my problem with the bike, she called a friend and that is where I met Johan from Sweden. He runs a car workshop here in Esteli and is a passioned motorcylist. When he saw the challenge we agreed that it is impossible to weld but possible to make an mounting to bring both frames together again. So that is what we start to do this afternoon. After that I will ride my motorcyle up to Mexico - more or less on the main highway to find a place to stay longer, two to three month, and order the needed parts and take care of my motorcycle. Somebody knows a good mechanic or workshop in Mexico where we can work on my bike together? Somebody knows a place to stay longer in Mexico and prefarable a good mechanic or workshop near by? Somebody have an idea about importing/shipping spare parts from Germany into Mexico? Taxes? Things come together again - as usual - just takes a bit more of time. ;-)
