OMG!! There are 5, yes you heard correctly…1, 2, 3, 4, 5 mothers-to- be in my school building. And guess what? All of them are having GIRLS!!! (between Feb.and May) What does this mean? 5 Baby Showers!!! AHHHHHH!!!! Or one BIGGGG Baby Shower… My team and I have our work cut out for us. So I knew of 3 of them for sure, and learned of the other 2 today, and of course my closest friends are like “Daniels” you should have children, you would be a great mother. Here we go again….. (the thoughts running thru my head: Don’t I need a man to make that happen? Am I married and no one clued me into anything? At 33, am I past my prime? Just because everyone else did, does that mean I should be next in line to the baby making magic, just because I love kids and you think I am great with them? Should I continue occasionally drinking the water at my school? Are people losing hope about me having kids, because I’m getting older and “it” hasn’t happened? Hmmmmm….) I just think, I am bird right now. Spreading my wings, wanting to see the world, be independent and free…to be ME…..reaching new heights, climbing mountains, seeing what the world has to offer before…>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Diaper Changing, Breast Feeding and Pumping, Burping and Lullabies, Photo-journaling/Scrapbooking Doctor Visits, Dental Visits, Road Trips, First Bike, First Teeth, Snotty Noses, Wagon Rides, Reading a Book, Walking, Spills, Crying, Illness, First A, Swim Lessons, Mom I’m hungry!, Christmas, Halloween, First Diploma, I love Purple mom, Mom can I have a cookie?, Ewwww…Vegetables, PTA, Dance, Lunch money, Mom, can I go the movies?, Mom, pick up the phone, it’s Dad!, Bed time, Curfew, Mom, can I hang out with my girlfriends?, sleepovers, girl talk, boys, College tuition,….. I’m just not ready. Is that selfish? God will bless me one of these days, but until then, I will keep calm and Erika ON. Patiently waiting, while blessing others with smiles and hugs, and offers to babysit (for practice). I bless God’s children everyday, as a teacher…I’m ok with my 100 kids…and yes they drive me crazy sometimes. This world, this life, right now……Erika will not be having any babies or getting married. Mr. Right is out there...I will not settle. #dont rush me people....
