ON DEATH ROW TONITE! HAS TILL NOON!!! WATCH HER VIDEO: youtu.be/v1_A2xxu1mA Nana is a 1 year old dog who has no prior injuries or medical problems. Social life and personality: According to owner she has not been around children or cats and has been around dogs when she is walked but he was unable to explain her behavior. SHe is house trained, kept mostly indoors, and has a high level fo energy. Behavior: She has never bitten anyone or any animal before. Owner was not able to give much information about her behaviors but did say she enjoys getting a bath and having her coat brushed but will bark when new people approach the house or family member (would not clarify if the bark was with soft of stiff body, bared teeth, etc.). New Family Info: She knows the command sit and is used to brisk walks on leash. She will play with balls, has never been crate trained and at home follows owner around. She is well behaved when left home alone and is used to dry food. Intake Behavior: During intake was fearful, retreating from extended hand. Would bark whenever another animal was heard. Allowed admission counselor to touch and pet her once owner left. 12/10/2014 WEB MEMO A volunteer writes: Despite her name Nanas hardly ready for the old age home! This pretty girl is a mere one year old and should be living the life of a carefree teen; running around, eating as much as possible and getting into mischief with her friends. Instead the only family she ever knew left her alone in a house full of strangers and poor, lost Nana is taking it very hard. Were told she spent much of her time indoors and was never exposed to children or socialized with other dogs so you can hardly blame her for being frightened by the hustle and bustle of a busy Care Center. Nana does want love and attention but its so hard to be brave and her mixed emotions are telegraphed through two wonderfully expressive ears...is it safe to trust this new human (one ear up) or will she betray me too (one ear down)? Shes not quite sure what to make of me or my offerings but comes when I call and politely sniffs, then rejects, some treats before allowing me to softly pet her head, all the while gazing up with those huge, pleading eyes of hers. A fine walker whos responsive, easy to handle and eager to hit the street, Nana seems housetrained and meets passing dogs with calm interest and the occasional vocal reprimand. Off-leash she shows no interest in toys and little interest in me, choosing instead to stay near the fence, sniffing the air, catching the street sounds and perhaps searching for the road back to a time when she was an energetic, ball-playing, bath-loving youngster living in a place where life made sense. Nana already has the fine looks, good heart and well-mannered potential to be a wonderful pet but theres a big ticket item not yet checked off her holiday wish list - a real forever home. In this season of giving, can you offer a lost little girl the best present of all?
