OPINION: EDGAR LUNGU: VISIONLESS AND A POLITICAL LIABILITY TO ZAMBIA While Hakainde is a Pyrrhic Gamble; and Mumba, Uphill Battle Serve for Divine Intervention By Charles Mwewa There is no authentic political leader who rules without a social contract of his own with the people. Lungu is trying to be the first to do so. Even in our own cultural permissiveness, where a man inherits his brother’s wife, he is required, of necessity, to father at least his own children with her and bring to the table food fetched through his own skills. He cannot rely upon his dead brother’s goodwill. The children will starve and the marriage will eventually collapse. Lungu cannot stake his fortunes on Sata’s death. A leader without a vision or one riding on another’s is more dangerous than a dictator; because he has no basis and anything and anyone can dictate his rule. In other words, if Lungu rules, unless he is only using this scheme as a political campaign strategy, he will be a puppet of someone else! Full story zambianeye/archives/27705
