ORIENTATION # 1110 :SOMETHING STRANGE ABOUT FOOD.. _____________________________________ From a private conversation _____________________________________ Have you ever inquired in that strange relationship between food and emotionality ? Or nervousness ? Why do we eat during a movie ? Its only marginally inherent in the culture.. In Bali for example they eat while they attend to a 1/2 hours ceremony: its the same.. Im not pointing out that its right or wrong: I just inquire in this curious attitude : why do we feel the desire of food (and particular food such as pop corn and candies and ice cream) while watching a movie ? It has obviously to do with entertaining purposes: a movie can be boring, tense, enthusiastic or scary: in any case a specific psychological environment comes into being.. isnt it so ? Whatever the movement of the mind is ..such movement intertwines itself with the hidden and latent or even bombastic psychological desire of psychological security.. (take for example that attitude to eat chocolate, especially in females, when stressed or sad or bored or anxious or not satisfied and so on).. Look: there is the need of food, which is instinct.. and then there is the urge of food.. which is surely not instinct but rather quite different: the urge of food is a psychological movement that has absolutely nothing to do with physiological necessities .. and rather it has a lot to do with the desire of fulfilment, of gratification, which is generated by the impulse toward psychological security .. Have you ever considered what is the relationship between the act of watching a horror movie at the movie theatre (which is a quite engaging circumstance) and the act of eating chips or popcorn like a sort of spasmodic and compulsive starving pig ? Whats going one there ? Its clearly a movement of psychological security that has zero to do with nourishment .. So the question is : are we inquiring in these attitudes when they come into being ? Or do we just follow them and then often becoming their victims of habits .. then clinging to a certain diet whatsoever ? I assume that it should be a quite relevant inquiry .. Think about these things.. ________________________________________ endoffear.weebly/ eofproject.org jessicamystic
