ORPHANS! PART 3 My first week at home was very painful for me. I had a lot to learn,dishes,cooking, and cleaning not to forget the laundrey too. What i hated the most was the fact that when my cousins returned from school,i had to take their schoolbags to their room and serve them food. I was a maid. My aunt would order me around. I even had to change the tv channels for her. Her: Genevive! Me: yes aunt Her: you see that bucket over there? She was pointing at a 20kg bucket. Me: yes i see that. her: good,starting from today,that bucket will become your best friend. Me: aunt i dont understand Her: who said yo had to? You will fetch water with that bucket from the stream everytime. You will fill all the buckets in the house. I could not speak or say anything. I could see that she meant business. The look on her face...i had to abide to avoid a smacking. I slowly walked to the stream. My head was heavy. My mother always said we should never question the man above but in this case i have to. I want to know if this that iam going through is part of His plan. That why He took my parents so soon while i was still naive and vulnerable? And mostly,why he lets my aunt treat me like trash. When i reached the stream i was drenched in tears. I filled the bucket but could not lift it. A woman there saw that i was struggling and came to me. Her: my child,why take a bucket so big? Will you be able to carry it home? Me: yes i can. Please help me put it on my head. She did.
