OSMOSE COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES, LLC POSITION DESCRIPTION Job Title: Outside Plant Engineer-Fiber Build Department: Engineering Division: Osmose Communications Services, LLC Reports To: Project Manager Location: Varies Summary: This position is responsible for design of outside plant facilities for Fiber to the Home (FTTH) projects in a metropolitan environment. The OSP Engineer will perform all aspects of fiber engineering including, but not limited to engineering of line extensions for service order activity, pole replacements facility installations and facility relocation. Duties will include staking, work order package preparation including, but not limited to field notes, cut sheets, schematics, and acquiring permits and private rights-of-way. The OSP engineer will also be expected to complete associated permitting by contacting any municipalities that pertain to the project. Applicants should be experienced with fiber optic network planning and design. Responsibilities •Design of fiber network infrastructure and creation of outside plant construction drawings •Telecommunications outside plant design from preliminary design to completed packages •Conduit design, building entrances, aerial, buried and underground cable design Requirements •Experience in telecommunications outside plant design and detailing which should include FTTH planning and design, copper and fiber cable counts, aerial make-ready design and manhole details •Knowledge of copper and fiber design principles in a metropolitan environment •Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices •Understanding of industry standard symbols and procedures •The ability to comprehend and modify outside plant record drawings •Experience with proprietary client-specific systems and standards •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. •Present a professional appearance and attitude •Support all company policies and safety practices Please submit resumes to: Dennis Branch at dbranch@osmose AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER M/F/D/V
