OUR AMERICAN HISTORY MARCH 17, HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY. 1737- The first observance of St. Patrick’s Day is held in the American colony in Boston. Some famous Americans of Irish Desce4nt include: Davy Crocket, Bing Crosby. During the Revolutionary War, it was estimated that one third to one half of the American Troops were of Irish descent, 9 out of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, and 19 Presidents including, Andrew Jackson, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. Remember, no matter what the Democrats say, this Observance is NOT BUSH”S fault.
