OUR GOD IS WORTHY OF PRAISE God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her and that right early. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.- Psalm 46:1,5,7 The greatest reason to praise God is His abiding presence with us. He has made a commitment to be with us at all times. He has covenanted Himself to us. This is the reason we are alive today inspite of diverse and adverse circumstances we may have found ourselves in. God’s presence with us has made a difference to us being alive as opposed to being dead! God’s presence has made us triumphant in various challenges we faced because He undertakes to confront situations on our behalf at all times. God’s presence has provided strength to us, to keep going forward and not backwards or stagnated. His divine strength has given us courage, so we have not been discouraged. His strength has kept our heads above the waters, it has sustained us. God’s presence implies we enjoy His mercies all through the year. And it is of the Lord’s mercy that we have not been consumed; you and I have to think and reflect. If we do, we will recollect His acts of mercies, His multifaceted helps and support that have seen us through impossible, hopeless or complex situations. God is worthy of praise, and we must praise Him with a grateful heart. God has been with us; surrounding us as the mountains surrounds Jerusalem. He has been to us a shield and a buckler; and a fortress. He has kept us in His secret and innermost place; He has covered us under the shadow of His wings. He provided a peculiar environment for us, keeping us under His wings; out of the reach of the scorching heat, storms, flood, rain, etc. God is worthy of our praise. God’s presence with us attracts favour to our lives; and by His favour our horns are exalted. We thrive and flourish in unfavourable environments. The presence of God brings illumination to our lives and path. He is our light, so we have the light of life and walk in the path of life. What more, His presence guides our lives and orders our steps, so that we are in right places at the right time. Our God is praise-worthy. Let us be grateful.
