Obstacle Tip Tuesday - THE BRIDGE So most of us have taken our horses across some type of bridge at one time or another, right? This is probably one of the simpler and most popular obstacles seen at many different events – so be creative when practicing, building, and planning this obstacle if you’re hosting a ride! We’ve seen everything from regular wooden bridges to metal grates to tarps to covered bridges. ALWAYS KEEP SAFETY FIRST!! Judges are looking for the horse to proceed forward willingly and without hesitation over the bridge. (Horse may regard bridge but a long hesitation or refusal will incur a penalty). Variations to this obstacle can include stopping on the bridge or after the bridge, backing off the bridge, picking up something or placing something on the bridge, or dismounting and walking over safely and quietly. What variations of the bridge have you used or seen at rides? Lets see those BRIDGE OBSTACLE pictures!
