October 13, 2014 AN OPEN LETTER TO PARENTS - TopicsExpress

October 13, 2014 AN OPEN LETTER TO PARENTS AND PUPILS Dear Parents and Pupils, It’s more than 6 months since I LEFT/RESIGNED from AYZ Little Saints School as its School Principal from March 2013 to April 8, 2014. It was a decision that left me no choice as my husband’s niece Josie P. Navarro, the partner of Z in AYZ and who recruited me (A and Y are no longer connected from the school that some loyal parents know what happened in the past.) just pulled out from serving as Fund Manager on March 31, 2014. I came at a time the school was encountering financial setback that parents thought that the school was closing. It is my belief and the belief of most parents who had showed their unwavering support in the educational programs and plans I introduced to improve the quality of education in the school made a big difference in the school compound, and among teachers, parents and pupils and the administration. I have enumerated all of these in the Accomplishment Report below which some of which were already stated on April 3, 2014 during the Triple Event (Moving Up/Recognition/Graduation Day). You may ask…why I just disappeared without the benefit of saying my goodbye to you on April 3, 2014. I should have done it but I was hesitant as it was like campaigning that you must leave also. Only some PTA officers knew as I bade them goodbye. So, it’s goodbye to all of you, my dear parents and pupils. My teachers knew my resignation as early as March 31, 2014 which was finalized on April 8, 2014 after completing and signing school forms for submission to DepEd Pampanga. It pains my heart to leave that I was not given a chance for another year more to pursue some of the educational reforms I started to make the school soar high especially the opening of a Special Education Program for the Mentally Gifted/Fast Learners for School Year 2014-2015. One year is so short. I don’t blame our niece who carried all the burden of financing payrolls of our teachers from December 2013 to March 31, 2014. The school is not mine and it is run by businesswomen. First and foremost I am an educator who serves for the benefit of the school the pupils and the teachers.and so, we always differ in views. (SGD) ROSALINDA T. CORDERO Former School Principal School Year 2013-2014 RESIGNATION LETTER May 2, 2014 The Management AYZ Little Saints School, Inc. San Pedro 2, Magalang M a d a m : Parting is such sweet sorrow as I love my work, the school, its environment, bonding with my angels, the teachers and parents but especially with my little saints whom I call my little saints. The pupils are the center of the educational system. That was what 45 years of teaching I went through with my life as a teacher and as an educator. The above-mentioned factors are my medicine while education has been my passion. But I regret to inform you of my irrevocable resignation starting April 16, 2014 after completing and signing all the forms (138, 137, 1 and reports on promotion) for submission to DepEd Division of Pampanga since Mrs. Josie P. Navarro is turning over/pulling out from handling the fund management of the school. Our agreement was when she leaves, I go, too, and that was not within my control. At the very onset, I have great contributions to the school (reflected in the Accomplishment Report) and it also includes getting that back permit for School Year 2014-2015. Dr. Isabelita Perfecto, the BEE Chief was supposed to sign the approval of the back DepEd permit and DepEd Recognition once another appeal letter and No Tuition Fee hike be forwarded (but for SY 2015-2016) this coming June (2014). The Recognition was already recommended by Mr. Cornelius Ducut as early as February 2014 which is included here. He requested so many documents including a narrative report to get his recommendation meaning we had to go back to DepEd Pampanga several times just to deliver documents he wanted for recognition. He is the Division of Pampanga’s in-charge of recommendations and interviews. Also credited for these approved documents in the region is Mr. Jerry Bognot, a friend and a brother of my co-teacher who entrusted these to Dr. Perfecto. He is now retired. Let us not forget these people including your humble self. My only regret was I was not given a year more to open the Special Education (SPED) Program for the Mentally Gifted/Fast Learners which will make the school soar high as there are no SPED centers in Magalang. The final curtain on my leaving the school is this resignation letter as there was no written contract between us. I want to protect the name I have established in the public elementary school system under the Department of Education, Angeles City from 1962 to 2007 and as a Master Teacher II and as the SPED Coordinator of Sto. Rosario Elementary School. I am proud to say that I am a graduate of the Philippine Normal College of which I earned my BSEED, also an alumna of the University of the Philippines (Diliman) MASPED and Angeles University Foundation Graduate Studies where I finished my Master of Arts in Education, major in Educational Management. Thank you very much. I enjoyed working in the school. God bless you both and more power to you! Very truly yours, (SGD) ROSALINDA T. Also blocks and a new set of materials to play with; 7. Guided the teachers to prepare instructional materials. We converted the rubber mat alphabets into modern alphabets with pictures and posted these in front of the room for children to see (Note: The invited lecturers for a seminar for the teachers were awed with these letters.) Four rooms benefited from this aside from the kinder…Grade 1, 2 and 3 rooms; 8. Rosario Elementary School SPED for children’s use to advance their lessons and in academic contests; 14. Organized the Young Artists Club of which a professional Art teacher, a graduate of UST, College of Fine Arts, was the teacher-trainor (Note: This could have produced winners in various art competitions like in SRES which went as far as becoming international winners had the program continued); 15. Bought a sound system with a DVD player and two microphones from our savings of P3,500 (Nutrition and Linggo ng Wika Programs) plus the donated P4,500 from a good Samaritan- alumna of the school; 16. Organized the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) which through my advice, conducted the February 2014 Raffle Draw coinciding with Valentine’s Day Program. Proceeds were used to buy a projector, two microphone stands, and a rostrum and 17. Had two outings for teachers, one in September 2013 and one in April 2014, both in Morong where Mrs. Navarro has beach houses.
